Privacy
This page explains what happens to your information when you use this site. The short version is that we collect very little, we use it only to reply to you, and we never sell it or share it to be marketed to. The longer version is below, in plain language.
What We Collect, And When
There are only three moments on this site where any information about you is collected at all.
When you use the contact form. We ask for your name, your organization, and your email address, and whatever you choose to write in the message. We use it to reply to you and to arrange a first conversation. That is all.
When you book a call. Booking is handled through Calendly, an outside scheduling service. When you book, Calendly collects your name, your email address, and the time you chose, so it can confirm the appointment and send a reminder. Calendly keeps that information under its own privacy policy, which you can read on its website.
When you visit any page. Like almost every website, this site uses cookies. A cookie is a small file your browser stores. The notice you see when you arrive lets you choose which kinds to allow. The necessary ones keep the site working. The others, which help us understand roughly how many people visit and which pages they read, only run if you agree. You can decline them and the site works exactly the same.
One Thing We Deliberately Do Not Collect
The self-assessment tools on this site, the questions for directors and boards, run entirely in your own browser. Your answers are never sent to us, never saved, and never seen by anyone. When you close or refresh the page, they are gone. That is on purpose, so you can answer honestly about your own board without wondering where the answers went.
What We Do With What We Collect
We use your contact and booking information for one thing: to talk with you about whether and how we can help. We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not send newsletters or marketing. If we ever start something like that, it would be something you choose to sign up for, separately and on purpose, with an easy way to unsubscribe in every message.
Who Sees It
Your information is seen by the Candour advisors involved in answering you, and no one else. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. We do not share it with anyone to market to you. The only outside services that touch it are the ones that make the site run: our email provider, which carries your message to us, and Calendly, which handles booking. Each keeps information under its own privacy terms and uses it only to provide that service.
How Long We Keep It
We keep enquiries and booking details only as long as we need them for the conversation you started, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. If you become a client, your information is kept under the terms of our engagement letter. If we do not end up working together, you can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we will.
Seeing Or Removing Your Information
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at the address below and we will do it, and we will not make it difficult. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
Keeping It Safe
We use reputable, current services for email and booking, and we limit who can see your information to the people who need to. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we take reasonable care and that we collect so little in the first place that there is very little to expose.
Changes To This Page
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing it in.
